How often should the system mist to be effective?

Depending on the severity of the infestation and the weather conditions, the average mist time is typically 2-3 mists per day for about 45 seconds per misting.

How long does a cartridge or drum fill last?

The time a cartridge or drum refill should last depends on the amount of heads and the total misting time per day. An average system would require about 2 - 2 1/2 fills per season.

Should I turn the system off if I leave town to save chemical?

No, unless you plan to leave for an extended period of time. Once you stop misting, the mosquito and bug population will re-establish residence in your yard. To regain control of your yard once again, it will take an extended misting time and/or a higher concentration of chemicals.

How soon will it take the system to get rid of the mosquitoes?

That can depend on the severity of the mosquito problem. You should see a definite difference in about 3 days and by 10 days the mosquitoes should be gone.

What does it cost to maintain the system?

After the system is installed, it is relatively inexpensive. To operate the average system, it should only cost about $1.50-$2.00 per day. This would include chemicals and minor maintenance (winterizing and spring start up).

Can I take my system with me if I move?

Yes. However, most people opt to leave the system. It really becomes a feature of the home when it comes time to sell.

What other types of insects will this insecticide help to control?

In addition to controlling mosquitoes, the mist can be effective in controlling gnats and no-see-ums, small pesky flying bugs, fleas, spiders, flies, and more than 400 other types of bugs. However, the placement of the heads is primarily targeted for controlling mosquitoes.
